●The reason why I applied for the internship program
I experienced internship at Katare Corporate Services through the global internship program sponsored by HIDA (The Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association). India is successfully growing and one of the most important partners to Japan in Asia. Considering my career plan, I felt this is a great opportunity for me to obtain working experience and deepen my understanding about Indian culture and people. That’s why I applied for this internship program.

Three months, from December to the end of February
●Internship Outline
Your tasks as intern will depend on the period and batch of your internship, intern duration, and your interest. In my case, I mainly conducted market research based on the requirement of the clients. So my basic tasks were: secondary research, making appointments from companies and government organizations, visiting companies and organizations with colleagues, taking notes, making reportsin English and Japanese, translation of reports and database, and follow-up inquiry if it is necessary. In addition, I visited variety of business oriented exhibition, academic conferences and seminars in order to broaden my knowledge of business in India.
●Achievement through the internship
First of all, basic skills required to all area of business had been improved through thisinternship program at Katare Corporate Services. Secondly, through several tasks I obtained confidence and creativity which is necessary qualities for business person. Thirdly, working experience in Bangalore broadened my perspectives on my career plan. My knowledge on business in India had been deepened and I’m really interested in Indian culture including cuisine, custom and so on. So now India is one of the counties which I’m really interested in. I will keep my interest in India and maintain some connections I obtained in India from now on.
●Suggestions for candidates of Internship at Katare Corporate Services
In Japan there are a lot of internship programs. However, most of these internshipprograms are very short duration. Furthermore, tasks for intern are not necessarily substantial one. Katarecorporate services, however, provides interns a lots of tasks which is challenging and enjoyable. You can tackle these tasks with support from helpful and approachable colleagues. Depending of your interest, effort, goals and planning, you can improve some useful skills necessary for business and this experience will broaden your perspectives on your career plan. You can also get a lots of experiences except working as intern. I frequently worked out in gym after working hours and practiced Yoga with Indian people at a local temple, seeing sunrise! I went to have Indian coffee and tea with my colleagues for a break. For a lunch, Ienjoyed Indian foods at restaurants around the office. In the weekend I studied foreign language with private tutor. Enjoy and have a good time!
